MacGregor Recruitment are specialist recruiters for the UK fenestration sector. We are recruiting for a Service Engineer on behalf of our client, a manufacturer and supplier of aluminium windows, doors & roof lanterns.

As a field based Service Engineer you will help support customers across the Southern region (South England & Wales), assessing and servicing any technical issues that may arise, and ensuring that every customer is 100% satisfied with installation, the products, and the excellent customer service our client prides itself on.

In our opinion this could be an excellent opportunity for a time served installer to move into a customer focused Service Engineer role, or equally for an experienced Service Engineer.

The role is listed as Oxford but candidates across the South Midlands / South of England will be considered as the location within the Southern region is flexible

Service Engineer role:

  • Collaborate with the installation and customer service teams to resolve any reported issues promptly.
  • Diagnosing and resolving product issues, and the servicing, repair and maintenance of aluminum windows and doors as required.
  • Installation of replacement components, i.e. seals, handles, hinges, and glazing units.
  • Provide detailed technical assessments for any faults identified, ensuring that customer service issues are addressed efficiently.
  • Advise customers on product care and maintenance
  • Maintain accurate service records, including job completion reports and updates
  • Ensure compliance with industry health and safety standards at all times.

Skills & Experience:

  • A background of fabricating, and installing windows & doors is essential
  • Specific experience in a similar service engineer role with expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining aluminum products is highly advantageous
  • The successful candidate will have a strong customer service approach and good communication skills
  • An ability to manage your own workload efficiently and work autonomously in the field
  • Strong problem-solving skills with good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Please note that occasional overnight stays may be required

Package:

  • A salary circa £35k DOE
  • Company vehicle and tools provided.
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme and ongoing training opportunities.
