Service Engineer
MacGregor Recruitment are specialist recruiters for the UK fenestration sector. We are recruiting for a Service Engineer on behalf of our client, a manufacturer and supplier of aluminium windows, doors & roof lanterns.
As a field based Service Engineer you will help support customers across the Northern region (Scotland & Northern England), assessing and servicing any technical issues that may arise, and ensuring that every customer is 100% satisfied with installation, the products, and the excellent customer service our client prides itself on.
In our opinion this could be an excellent opportunity for a time served installer to move into a customer focused Service Engineer role, or equally for an experienced Service Engineer.
The role is listed as Leeds but candidates across the North of England will be considered as the location within the Northern region is flexible
Service Engineer role:
- Collaborate with the installation and customer service teams to resolve any reported issues promptly.
- Diagnosing and resolving product issues, and the servicing, repair and maintenance of aluminum windows and doors as required.
- Installation of replacement components, i.e. seals, handles, hinges, and glazing units.
- Provide detailed technical assessments for any faults identified, ensuring that customer service issues are addressed efficiently.
- Advise customers on product care and maintenance
- Maintain accurate service records, including job completion reports and updates
- Ensure compliance with industry health and safety standards at all times.
Skills & Experience:
- A background of fabricating, and installing windows & doors is essential
- Specific experience in a similar service engineer role with expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining aluminum products is highly advantageous
- The successful candidate will have a strong customer service approach and good communication skills
- An ability to manage your own workload efficiently and work autonomously in the field
- Strong problem-solving skills with good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Full UK driving license.
- Please note that occasional overnight stays may be required
Package:
- A salary circa £35k DOE
- Company vehicle and tools provided.
